I'm closing my coaching (for now)

Read time: 3 min.

I'm staring at my YouTube analytics right now.

123 million views in 28 days. 62 million in the last week alone.

For context: I've been running a faceless YouTube channel for a while now. Hit a million subscribers earlier this year. Growth was solid, consistent, exactly what you'd hope for.

But this last month? Different. These aren't numbers I've ever seen before.

This is the kind of growth that should have me doubling down. Taking on more coaching clients. Building offers around it. Riding the wave while it's here.

Instead, I'm doing the opposite.

I'm closing my 1:1 coaching. No new clients. Not for a while.

And honestly? It feels wrong to type that.

Here's what happened

2 weeks ago, I started a 90-day 1:1 coaching program focused on YouTube growth. Small tweaks. Title optimization. Description changes. Nothing revolutionary on paper.

The results? Anything but small.

My faceless channel (@connectwithgrowth) exploded. We're talking numbers that made me refresh my analytics three times because they didn't feel real. The strategies worked faster and harder than I expected.

But here's the thing nobody tells you about rapid growth: it demands more of you, not less.

Right now, that channel is at a critical inflection point. The kind where the next 90 days could define the next two years. I'm writing a book for it. I'm optimizing every piece of the system. I'm learning lessons daily that I'll be teaching for years.

This requires my full attention. Not 80%. Not "I'll squeeze it in." Full, undivided, obsessive focus.

The math didn't add up

I looked at my calendar last week. Really looked at it.

Coaching calls. Content creation for my personal brand. Writing. Strategy sessions. The actual execution on the faceless channel. And in the background, the book I'm writing (a whole beast on its own).

Everything's still getting done. My coaching clients are still getting results. Quality hasn't slipped.

But I could see exactly where it would.

If I took on more clients right now, something would have to give. Either my current clients would get a lesser version of me, or the faceless brand would get whatever's left over.

Neither of those options work for me.

This is what I tell my clients

‘’Build the foundation before you add floors.’’

"Every yes to something is a no to something else."

"Your attention is your most valuable asset: spend it like it is."

Funny how much harder it is to follow your own advice when money's on the table and people want to work with you.

I've never been afraid to push my limits. I'll work 16-hour days without blinking. I'll take on challenges that seem impossible. I love finding out I'm capable of more than I thought.

But there's a difference between expanding your capacity and diluting your impact.

Right now, taking on more clients would be the latter. So I'm not doing it.

I'm hitting pause. Closing the doors. Putting a hold on new client requests.

Not forever. Just until I can give both the attention they deserve.

Nothing's changing here

One thing I want to be crystal clear about: this newsletter isn't going anywhere.

This is still the place where I share everything. The wins, the messy middle, the decisions that feel wrong even when they're right. The lessons from explosive growth. The behind-the-scenes of writing a book while scaling content. All of it.

If anything, you'll probably hear from me more. Because when I'm deep in execution mode, that's when the best insights come out.

I'm not stepping back. I'm just redirecting where my energy goes.

My priorities shifted. And I felt like you deserved to know why.

Much love,

— Martijn
