I finally finished the book.

Read time: 3 min.

This week I finished writing my book.

Some of you have heard me mention it a few times over the last couple of weeks. Never really explained what it was. Just dropped it and moved on.

So let me actually tell you.

Alongside this newsletter I run a faceless social media brand where I post quotes from some of history's greatest thinkers. Philosophers, scientists, warriors, poets. People who lived completely different lives, in completely different centuries, on completely different continents.

What started as just sharing quotes I found interesting turned into something bigger when people kept asking the same thing: is there somewhere I can find more of these? Can you put them all in one place?

So I did.

The book is called The Art of Intentional Living: 101 Lessons from History's Greatest Minds. The premise is simple: what do the greatest minds in history actually agree on, when they had no way of comparing notes, no shared culture, no common language, and in many cases thousands of years between them?

That's not a coincidence. That's something worth paying attention to.

I finished it this week and honestly, I just wanted to share a piece of it. Not to pitch anything. Not to announce a launch date. Just to mark the moment and give you a little sneak peek.

Here it is.

There are 101 chapters like this one. Some are practical. Some made me uncomfortable to write. Some I had to sit with for days before I understood what I was actually trying to say.

This one I still think about every single day.

Hope it lands for you the way it landed for me.

Now that the manuscript is done, the next phase starts. Formatting, printing, figuring out how to actually launch this thing properly. My first book ever, so it's all new territory for me. Exciting, fun, and a lot to learn.

I'll take you along for the ride.

Much love,

— Martijn
