How I Built My Brand Bible (Using AI)
Read time: 3 min.
AI will make one-person businesses unstoppable.
I spent last Tuesday night playing with Claude instead of ChatGPT, and what happened in that hour changed how I run my entire business.
I'm not being dramatic. I literally accomplished in 60 minutes what used to take me days of frustrating work.
Your AI Assistant Doesn't Know You (Yet)
I used to jump straight into asking AI to create content for me and then wonder why it sounded like everyone else's generic advice.
It felt like hiring someone who had never met me to speak on my behalf.
Awkward and completely off-brand.
The breakthrough came when I realized: AI is the smartest person I'll ever meet, but it knows absolutely nothing about me or my business until I tell it.
So I created a brand bible template (I'll share it below) and suddenly, everything AI produced actually sounded like me.
Not some robotic, AI-generated version of me. But actually me.
Your Prompts Probably Suck
Here's the brutal truth I learned: most people's AI prompts are garbage.
They type something like "write me a LinkedIn post about coaching" and then complain that AI doesn't work for them.
That's like walking into a room full of Harvard professors and saying "tell me stuff" instead of asking a specific, thoughtful question.
This week I compared Claude to ChatGPT using the same detailed prompts, and the difference floored me. When I added a meta prompt creator (basically a prompt that helps write better prompts), the results went from good to "wait, did I write this myself?"
The quality of what you get from AI directly reflects the quality of what you put in.
Master this one skill, and you effectively master dozens of others.
Create Your Brand Bible First
I spent an hour creating these three documents:
Core Identity
Business name and industry
Mission and vision statements
Core values and purpose
Target Audience
Demographics and psychographics
Pain points and aspirations
Detailed customer personas
Brand Voice
Communication style
Personality attributes
Words to use and avoid
Was it fun? About as fun as doing taxes. Was it worth it? Absolutely life-changing.
Because once these were done, I could feed them to AI before any request, and suddenly everything it produced was perfectly aligned with my business and voice.
The real magic: this eliminated the biggest pitfall I see with personal brands. Creating random content that has nothing to do with your core message just because you need to post something or want to sound smart.
Bye Bye, Blank Page
With my brand parameters set, I created a week's worth of content in my actual writing style in less than an hour.
But here's what really matters: the content was better.
Not just faster to produce — genuinely better.
Why? Because I spent my limited mental energy on thinking about the ideas and strategy, not fighting with my keyboard and endlessly editing.
I still write myself when I need clarity (like I'm doing right now), but it's more in a free-flow form. Gone are the days of the endless backspace-edit-backspace-edit process that made content creation feel like pulling your hair out.
Let AI Handle Your First Drafts
The biggest revelation was letting AI create structured first drafts based on my messy notes or scattered thoughts.
I'd dump my raw ideas (like the notes I used for this newsletter), and AI would transform them into organized, cohesive content that still sounded exactly like me.
This isn't about being lazy. It's about being strategic with your time.
Why spend hours organizing thoughts when you can spend that time on client calls, strategic decisions, or actually living your life?
Final Words
If you're curious how I set this up or want my exact templates, schedule a call here. I've been through this process myself and can save you lots of frustration.
Once your system is set up, you'll use it for literally everything.
Saving you countless hours every single week.
Imagine what you could accomplish in your coaching business if you suddenly had 10+ hours of creative energy back each week..?
Much love,
— Martijn
P.S. I remember how much time I wasted figuring this out alone. If you'd rather shortcut the process, I've opened a few 30-minute slots this week. Pick a time here and I'll share my exact templates and workflow.
